Before you book

What we can and cannot carry.

Two lists. The first we will not carry at all. The second we can carry once the paperwork exists. Both are shown to you before you pay, not after your item is seized.

This list is a working document, not legal advice, and it is still with our lawyers. The binding list is the Nigeria Customs Service import prohibition list, which changes without notice. If your item is not listed here and you are unsure, ask us before you buy it.

Will not be carried

The hard no.

Ticking any of these on a request ends it. Some are illegal to import; some are legal but cannot go on an aircraft. Both mean the same thing for your parcel.

  1. [01]

    Narcotics and controlled substances

Including cannabis and its derivatives, regardless of legality where the item was bought.

    Not permitted · cannot fly
  2. [02]

    Weapons, ammunition and parts

Firearms, air guns, ammunition, components, and replicas convincing enough to be treated as real.

    Not permitted · cannot fly
  3. [03]

    Explosives, fireworks and flares

Cannot be carried on any aircraft, in cargo or in baggage.

    Not permitted · cannot fly
  4. [04]

Bulk currency, bank cards and cheques

We do not move money. Cards and cheques in someone else’s name are refused outright.

    Not permitted
  5. [05]

    Counterfeit goods and pirated media

Fake branded items are seized and the shipper is liable, not the seller who sold them.

    Not permitted
  6. [06]

    Wildlife products

Ivory, skins, shells, bone and anything from a protected species.

    Not permitted
  7. [07]

Human remains, ashes and body parts

These need a specialist repatriation service, not a courier.

    Not permitted · cannot fly
  8. [08]

    Flammable liquids, gases and corrosives

Petrol, solvents, aerosols over travel size, gas canisters, pool chemicals, mercury.

    Cannot fly
  9. [09]

Loose lithium batteries and power banks

A battery installed in its device is fine. A spare one on its own cannot go in cargo.

    Cannot fly
  10. [10]

    Vapes and e-cigarettes

Refused for the same battery reason, and restricted on arrival.

    Not permitted · cannot fly
  11. [11]

    Live animals, plants and seeds

Requires quarantine and phytosanitary clearance we are not set up to handle.

    Not permitted · cannot fly
  12. [12]

Perishable food and raw agricultural produce

Fresh meat, dairy, fish and unprocessed produce will not survive clearance, let alone pass it.

  13. [13]

Anything you will not let us open

Every item is inspected before it is accepted. A sealed package we cannot look inside is refused — this is the rule that protects our travellers.

    Not permitted
Carried with paperwork

Allowed, once it is documented.

These clear routinely when the registration or prescription exists, and get seized when it does not. Tell us at quote stage and we will tell you exactly what is needed.

  1. [01]

    Prescription medicine and supplements

NAFDAC registration or a prescription in the recipient’s name. Personal quantities only, never for resale.

Not permittedNever on the traveller route
  2. [02]

Cosmetics and skincare in commercial quantity

Small personal amounts are routine. Resale volumes need NAFDAC registration.

  3. [03]

    Alcohol and tobacco

Heavily dutied, quantity-capped, and never accepted on the traveller route.

  4. [04]

    Drones and radio transmitters

Needs NCAA or NCC type approval before it will clear.

  5. [05]

    Used vehicle parts and tyres

Used tyres are prohibited outright; other used parts clear case by case.

  6. [06]

    Jewellery, precious metals and stones

Declared at full value, insured, and never on the traveller route — the reward would not cover a loss.

Phones and laptops in commercial quantity

More than a couple of units is treated as trade stock and dutied as such.

The inspection rule

If we cannot open it, we cannot take it.

Every item is unsealed and inspected before it is accepted — on all four routes, with no exceptions and no apology for it. On the traveller route this is what stands between a volunteer with spare luggage space and a criminal charge, so it is the one rule we will lose a booking over.
